The Ark Angel Christian Bookshop to some might be a little shop within a seaside town, or a little shop that you might not have even set foot inside. To many people it is a beacon of light in a small town, but that beacon of light stretches further than the eye can see.
The Ark Angel finds itself part of what God is doing around the UK. As a place of meeting, of prayer, of inspiration and challenge, those who cross the threshold are met with opportunities to hear and act upon all that God has placed on their hearts to accomplish for Him. This summer we have had the privilege of supporting our brothers and sisters both locally and nationally. Welcoming those on holiday, we have heard visitors talk about the Christian bookshops that have closed in their own towns, and how blessed Bude is to still have a Christian presence on the high street. We have also heard exciting stories of what God is doing around the country and the many ways God is resourcing mission and teaching through the Ark Angel.
Here are a few of the good news stories we have heard:
In Yorkshire the Ark Angel is providing teaching resources and prizes for a Church’s Children and Young People’s work. Their motivation is to encourage the young people they connect with to have their own one-to-one relationship with Jesus and to follow Him.
A young family who have just completed training with the Salvation Army have been sent to Bristol to plant a church in a place where a church community once existed.
Through the Ark Angel they have worship and teaching resources to help them with their new work. We regularly sell a large amount of cards, some bought for specific birthdays, anniversaries and other key moments like adult baptism, as well as cards to encourage, bless and support.
Throughout the UK people are being blessed and encouraged, and the Ark Angel has had an important part in this. The Ark Angel is part of a network that spreads beyond Bude to places we could scarcely imagine. God has us here for a purpose. We have been trading for over 33 years.
We are a registered charity, and non-profit-making organisation, which means that all money raised from sales goes into replenishing and improving our selection of stock, along with meeting our overheads and supporting local Christian initiatives. We are also supported financially by regular giving from individuals and some churches.
Unfortunately, income for the shop is currently at an all-time low. We need your help. Are you able to give a regular monthly donation to the Ark Angel? By doing so, you will be helping us to continue to be able to be a much-needed Christian presence six days a week in Bude. If you feel able to give financially, whether that’s weekly, monthly, or by a one-off gift, please use the bank details below. If you are a UK taxpayer, please feel free to pop in to the shop and pick up a gift aid form from a member of staff. Thank you.
