Whitstone Methodist Chapel can be found in the centre of the village next to the village shop. There is ample parking opposite the chapel. Our mission statement is: We are a family friendly chapel with a passion to worship God, walk with Christ, serve our neighbours and love one another.
We hold services at 11.00am most Sunday mornings.
We are a congregation of between 12 and 18 people most weeks. We are delighted to have 3 families with 5 children who attend regularly and enjoy taking part in creative activities at Sunday Club during the main service.
A group of ladies also go along to St Anne’s Residential home in the village on the 3rd Tuesday afternoon of each month to chat and/ or play games with the residents.

During Covid, we started a weekly prayer group on Zoom on Tuesday evenings which our Circuit Lay worker Michelle Hogarth facilitates and that has continued on a weekly basis. We have also had weekly prayer meetings at our chapel on Monday evenings to pray for a vision of what the way forward looks like for our chapel and its community.
On the first Tuesday morning each month we run a coffee morning from 10.30 until 12.00 with an activity of photos to peruse or a quiz either to do at the time or take home to ponder! If you are in the area please feel free to pop in and join us!

Whitstone held a very successful Easter Exhibition ‘ Come journey through Easter with us’ Members of our church and the Anglican Church depicted a scene from Jesus’s time in the wilderness through to Holy Week and Pentecost. The weekend celebrations started on Thursday morning when Rev Meg Slingo and Pam Colwill welcomed our village Primary School to an Easter service. On Good Friday there was a concert chaired by Mark Shepherd and given by The Stowford Meadow Singers they gave us the message that the crucifixion on that first Good Friday was not the end! The resurrection changed everything! On Saturday our exhibition was open to the public and there was an Easter Egg Hunt around The Old Rectory by kind permission of Mrs Maggie Cooper. 37 children took part along with their families and they returned to the chapel to receive their Easter Eggs and take part in various Easter crafts. Pam Colwill led an All Age worship service on Easter Day with many visual aids given out in party bags. The exhibition was open to the public again on Sunday afternoon. Cream Teas were served on both afternoons by the ladies of the chapel. To date £500 was raised which will be split between North Devon Hospice and Chapel Funds. A great community event when our newly laid disabled ramp came in very useful for wheelchair users and pushchairs. To God be the glory great things he has done.
