Easter 2026
Whitstone held a very successful Easter Exhibition ‘ Come journey through Easter with us’ Members of our church and the Anglican Church depicted a scene from Jesus’s time in the wilderness through to Holy Week and Pentecost. The weekend celebrations started on Thursday morning when Rev Meg Slingo and Pam Colwill welcomed our village Primary School to an Easter service. On Good Friday there was a concert chaired by Mark Shepherd and given by The Stowford Meadow Singers they gave us the message that the crucifixion on that first Good Friday was not the end! The resurrection changed everything! On Saturday our exhibition was open to the public and there was an Easter Egg Hunt around The Old Rectory by kind permission of Mrs Maggie Cooper. 37 children took part along with their families and they returned to the chapel to receive their Easter Eggs and take part in various Easter crafts. Pam Colwill led an All Age worship service on Easter Day with many visual aids given out in party bags. The exhibition was open to the public again on Sunday afternoon. Cream Teas were served on both afternoons by the ladies of the chapel. To date £500 was raised which will be split between North Devon Hospice and Chapel Funds. A great community event when our newly laid disabled ramp came in very useful for wheelchair users and pushchairs. To God be the glory great things he has done.

Happy 2nd Birthday Holsworthy Chapel Stay and Play!

What a wonderful and busy morning we had at Stay and Play today celebrating our 2nd Birthday. Thank you to all our volunteers who created, made, baked and put on a great party morning. Thank you to all those that have been coming from the very beginning and those who have joined us throughout the last 2 years and to those who today was their first visit. Looking forward to the next year ahead.

A New Year's Message from Revd Meg Slingo
Happy New Year to you. I pray that it will be a year full of blessings, from the Lord to you. As a circuit, we are together praying our circuit prayer, asking that His Kingdom will keep on coming, through us. I thank God for all that He has done, in the circuit; all He is doing and all He will do. As Christians, we continue to seek His face. I offer Psalm 27, at the start of this new year, and especially verse eight: "Come”, my heart says, “seek His face!" Your face, Lord, do I seek (NRSV) I hope you agree, when I say, isn’t it wonderful that we CAN seek Gods face. That we can simply come, just as we are. We do not need to ask in prayer for anything but can just come as children of God. We can just come and be. Such love has the Lord, for us, we can do this. I hope and pray, that, later this year, we will have a Circuit Service; a time of worship and prayer, as we continue to seek His presence, and His Will, for His Church here, in our Circuit. The Lord bless you and keep you: the Lord make his face to shine upon you, And be gracious unto you: the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen. (Numbers 6:24-26) NRSV We give thanks for all that has been, and all that will be, for His church here, in our circuit. Revd Meg Slingo, Superintendent Bude and Holsworthy Methodist Circuit
